Poll Technical Comments

"By the book" - This poll run by the Columbus dispatch "should" be just awful.

Basically, they just mail out "ballots" to thousands of registered voters, and everybody and anybody who feels like it mails the completed ballot back. -they then count them up.

The Dispatch has been running the poll for literally decades.

Wretched sample selection, self selecting respondants, etc, etc...

"By the book" this poll just plain sucks.

All that being said, in the real world, this poll has a surprisingly good record of predicting the actual results.

Go figure?
