Allen Leads Kaine by 2% in Virtual Tie

*Please note that we split the survey to rotate the order of the candidates, so while half will hear the Republican first, the other half hears the Democrat mentioned first.

1* In the 2012 Election for the U.S. Senate, suppose you had a choice between Republican George Allen and Democrat Tim Kaine. If the election were held today, would you vote for Republican George Allen or Democrat Tim Kaine?

The latest Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey finds Allen drawing 46% of the vote to Kaine’s 44%. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, and seven percent (7%) are undecided.

The survey of 500 Likely Voters in Virginia was conducted on March 20, 2012 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 4.5 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC.
