About this Poll

The poll was conducted for the Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center.

The center, founded in 1976, is a nonpartisan enterprise that has carried out major survey projects for a wide range of business, nonprofit and media clients, including the Boston Globe, CNN and New Hampshire Public Radio.

The findings are based on landline and cell phone interviews with 625 randomly selected Maine adults, including 527 likely voters, from June 12-18. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.9 percent for all respondents and 4.3 percent for likely voters.
