In the Senate races, Republicans gained six seats, defeating two Democratic incumbents, Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas and Russ Feingold of Wisconsin. Republicans also picked up four open seats in Illinois, Indiana, North Dakota, and Pennsylvania.
