Would it have helped her chances in the fall?

I ask this since him being running mate would never have been possible, but a cabinet position could've been.

I have my doubts that would have changed much.

Why would Sanders accept such a deal?  Remaining a senator is way better than whatever low-level cabinet spot (HUD, VA, HHS) Clinton would throw at him.

This wasn't 1912 and she wasn't seeking leverage at a convention. It's funny to imagine Sanders running the State Department though.

LOL, she'd obviously give him one of the more irrelevant ones. He definitely wouldn't get getting State, Defense, Treasury, or Attorney General.

This wouldn't have been enough. Making him VP with a pledge that he could pick 5-10 cabinet secretaries might have.

President Biden considered naming Bernie Labor secretary, but both esteemed men agree to not risk losing a senate seat (VT had a Republican governor)

The same issue would happen in 2016

VT had an incumbent Dem Governor until the 2016 Elections, and also Dems were considered likely to hold said Governorship at the time this choice would have been made.
