Can you describe how you operated as GM last time and what you plan to change, if anything, from that experience?

Thank you for this question. I'll gladly elaborate.

I'm planning on taking the same creative approach as the last time. My job would be, beside keeping Atlasia informed, to provide challenges and opportunities to the government and the population with impartiality. I've worked with President Lumine and President bore, representatives of two diffrent political camps, and I believe I was trying to give neither special treatment nor special troubles.

This time I'm planning to be more cautious. The GM can't rule anything out, but I won't pull "nuclear attack" or something like this out of the blue. That would require many serious previous developments.

Naturally, I'll try my best to remain consistent with previous developments, provided my by successors and predecessors, but you can expect me to try to start over whenever I can, so it won't be just more of the same.

Last, but not least, since the GM bill states that all RL events happens ITL, unless specified by the GM, I'll maintain a section with simple informations whether something did not happen, aside of all official stories.

One thing I've wanted the GM to do was something done (very well I may add, unlike the rest of the operation) in the South American Simulation- real time crisis'

Most of politics is as Harold Wilson said 'Events, Dear Boy'- look at the 'big issues' of the last issues of the last 20 years- 9/11, Economic recession, Hurricane Katrina, Osama raid etc they all depend on how government responds to an event.

With some preparation/work would be happy/willing to do something like this as GM?

From the gallery

It is good news that you will not be blowing up  half of Atlasia in a nuclear attack and that you will not have half of the government officials in Atlasia imprisoned.  (I think)

I can only hope, however, that as a public official, you will answer questions from the public when asked, unlike when I asked you a question when you were a candidate for Vice President which you completely ignored, until you came under such pressure that you had to answer it.

Actually, no one had been arrested unless authorities seek to do this. And as GM I merely created an event.

I see my job to generate an event (sometimes as a consequence of what is already going on, sometimes a surprise), so the players can deal with it. During my previous term, I did provide a number of challenges.

As of South America, the most dissapointing thing I've seen about it was a naive belief by some players you can have a country simulation totally on elections and parliamentary discussion, with no external/random/sudden factors. It's illogical.

(I thought it was Harold Macmillan's quote. Damn Harolds.)

Not in the Senate but have to ask to avoid surprises in the future:

Do you plan on holding another offices while being GM
Do you plan on being the leader of a major political party while being GM

No and no. I'll focus entirely on what is essentially a nonpartisan job.

The last time Kalwejt was GM, no less than two terrorist organizations attempted to kill me. I can only assume that this is part of a diabolical Federalists scheme to silence the opposition. Wink

Seriously, though, Kal is probably the best GM we've ever had - certainly the best GM since I joined the game - and I'm glad I'll be able to work with him after all.

To be fair, you weren't the only targeted individual. I was trying to be impartial Wink

Truman considers you the official GM in the introduction thread right now, if that counts.

It appears Lumine was last active on July 29. I'm reluctant to take the office until this vote is oficially closed.
