The Stanley Cup Finals begin tomorrow. Who are you rooting for and who do you think wins the Cup?

(I was going to mention last year's prediction thread but decided not to.)

Game 1 is in the books...a tough loss for the Devils. They really need to get some offense going...it was almost unbearable to watch them not get any shots off for prolonged amounts of time.

I used to be a Devils fan (well, they were my favourite American team), and I usually hate sun belt teams, but LA is different. They're an old franchise, and deserve a Stanley Cup. But TBH, who really cares about these two teams?

Why on Earth would Los Angeles deserve a Stanley Cup?

Kings/Kings

Hot goalie, good/great defense, good coach.  Eff the Devils.

In his defense, LA was an 8 seed that beat the best teams in the Western Conference just to get to the Stanley Cup. The underdog factor is strong with this one.

I don't really ever give a sh**t about this game, but this comment is very much correct. These finals are a joke. Though tbf, I don't really ever care about any team.

NJ has won three Stanley Cups and has made the playoffs every year except one during your lifetime, yet has one of the worst attendances in the league. Sort of like the Devil Rays or the 1970s A's. Despite having won only one playoff series in your lifetime until this April, LA sold out every game.

I have known a few dozen Canadians (both male and female) and Hashemite is the only one who doesn't care intensely about hockey. He should go back to France.

*bump*

I'm a bit late in posting my prediction, but I went (and am still going) with Devils/Kings. The Kings already won the first two games on the road. This could be a sweep.

The Kings are a warm-weather hockey team, something I don't like, but also (and I haven't noticed this until now) the Kings actually had a losing season (they won only 40 out of 82 games in the regular season).

This is why I don't like the 16-team NBA/NHL-style playoffs. It's also why I don't like the "point" system in the NHL that's based on W-L-OTL record. Playoff berths should be strictly based on win-loss record.

This is pretty much the reason. It would be easier to cheer for the Kings if their logo wasn't so bland. Bring back the purple and gold crowns!
