Obama didn't last time and probably won't this time, not sure if Romney's fund raising is strong enough for it to be beneficial to him to opt out.

What is public financing again ?

You get something like 80 Mio. $ for the time after the convention to the general election ?

That is roughly 40 Mio. $ for every month. I'm not sure if Romney can raise that amount of money per month, so it wouldn't be bad for him.
