Smoking gun?

I'm waiting for the hard-right to come up with:

- But this was only about adoptions, right?
- It was still no collusion as no actual dirt on HRC was offered
- Collusion is not a criminal offense

Just to be clear "Trump Tower Moscow negotiations" refers to Trump Organization negotiations to build a tower in Moscow, and not negotiations in Trump Tower with Moscow officials, correct?

Yes, but it's still Trump lying about his activities in connection with Russia.

Perjury trap
\

The Orange Traitor can either admit to colluding with a hostile foreign power to rig the election in his favor, or commit perjury. Not a good choice either way.

The best part for Democrats is either answer is a high crime and misdemeanor for Trump...and if he admits to it, it's crime and misdemeanor for Pence too, which means President Pelosi.

For good reason the service academies have the same honor code, if worded differently: do not lie, cheat, or steal, and do not tolerate lying, cheating, or stealing by others. I can hardly imagine a will-esteemed profession, including medicine, science, engineering, accountancy, academia, police work, fire-fighting, or teaching in which that honor code fails to hold.

J. Edgar Hoover may have been a piece of work, but he once said that all the criminals that he ever knew about were liars, and if police work could detect the lies and the liar who made them, the lies could prove the guilt of the crook. So one's handwriting is connected to fraudulent entries in a ledger book that one altered so that one could hide an embezzlement... or one leaves fingerprints or DNA evidence at the scene of a crime that one claims to have never been at. The cover-up that seems to first conceal the crime exposes the crime.

Every misdeed needs a lie to cover for it, and to cover for a lie one needs even more lies. Lies unravel, but they also take elaborate coverings that, no matter how elegant in their contrivance, the lies underneath them undermine what one does to cover the lies.

Yes, one can get away with puffing in sales (selling is not a profession) or hyperbole in advertising... nobody could sell anything without puffing or hype.

No activity and no office is so noble that one cannot debase it with dishonesty, cruelty,  or corruption. Before Trump the worst Presidents were either mediocrities (A. Johnson, W. Harding, G W Bush), people no longer up to the job (J. Buchanan) or whose skill set did not match the job (Hoover, maybe Carter). Even a poor President like Hoover or Carter could have meticulous  integrity. Nixon had a basic distrust ill suited to the Presidency, but he had a veneer of competence that hid that until Watergate erupted. And then there is Donald Trump, whose power is great yet whose word is worthless or worse.
