1980, 1992, 2004 would be at the top of my list.

For more historical elections, I think 1800 and 1824 would be cool.

Nah 1980 was a guaranteed GOP victory so no .



False.  1980 was super-winnable for the Democrats.  Carter opened 1980 out-polling Reagan by 30 points and throughout the spring and summer led him pretty consistently.  Reagan started outpacing Carter in the late summer, but the race was tied heading into the final debate performance.  You also had Anderson who polled 10-20% pretty consistently the whole time.
