I think the GOP will recognize by 2020 that we're slowly becoming a post-Christian nation.  The Dems are pretty much a post-Christian party at this point.  The GOP will conform in due time.

Y'all don't have a clue what you're talking about. "The Dems are a post-Christian party..."? You've got to be a parody of Reddit or something I swear.

Those states are in tough economic times and are voting for the candidate of change. I think Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania will vote Democratic in 2020 and I wouldn't be shocked if Ohio did too. They're probably swing states now though, rather than light blue states.

I'm not saying the Dems are atheists or anything, but they tend to be more secular than the GOP on most social issues.

Sure, the Democrats will win those states again, just like Carter won the South in 1976.

No, more like New Southern Strategy is just starting to grow and they caught got like deer in the headlights trying to make it work while the Midwest falters. Georgia, Florida, NC, Virginia, Arizona, Texas...can't ake 'em for granted anymore.

Clinton was just like Dukakis in Montana and the Dakotas to get there.

Confused. Are you saying the Sun Belt will swing D as the Rust Belt will swing R or do you think it will all swing back?

The real strategy will be in suppressing dissent in the Capitalist Reich of America. The Hard Right will impose great hardships upon millions of Americans, and to stay in power they will need to create a climate of fear that prevents any organizing for Democrats.

We are in for a winter of political discontent that will last perhaps until the end of the Evil Empire emerging between the Rio Grande and the 49th Parallel.

It ends when they are finally voted out.

I think that if the cards are played right, the Sun Belt will swing D for good while the Midwest will be trend R but still flip [sorta like how Reagan took the Midwest even better than Ford, only to regress slightly in '84]

Not a chance buddy. Trump will kick out Los Hombres Malo and secure the South, while bringing jobs back to the Rust Belt. Virginia might stay blue though, especially if Trump follows through with Federal workforce attrition.

It was not very long ago that Republicans were complaining of the national debt, and were more "libertarian leaning".

That often happens when a Democrat is the President.

I remember in 2005-2007, Republicans were saying that due to reapportionment that they would be assured the Presidency because states like Iowa, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and swing state Ohio kept losing electoral votes.

Hmm, I wonder if they will still point that out now.

Kerry 2004+ Ohio would not do it anymore after 2010 census.

I'm writing about the New Southern Strategy. But it's not a Northern Strategy. It's a class based white Strategy.

LOL at the idea of Dens being a post Christian party. Of the 46 dems currently in the senate, 35 are some type of Christian - well over half. The rest are Jews or Buddhists.

Of the 186 Democrats currently in the house, 156 are some type of Christian. Of the rest. all but one are members of other faiths.

Trump's not going to deport millions of Hispanics living here legally, even in his wildest dreams. And most of those manufacturing jobs aren't coming back under any circumstances. We need to move on.
