It would have depended on how the peaceful exit of Vietnam would of happened. Democrats drew up the War Powers Resolution and would America would have withdrawn anyways, but it would have had to be peaceful and orderly. Humphrey, would have definately been challenged by RFK should he have survived and he could have lost the primary to RFK. Secular groups weren't happen with the status quo, even the people assciated with Johnson administration when it came to Nam. But, if RFK challenged Humphrey in 1972, Humphrey obviously wouldn't have won reelection, but RFK would have, however, a GOP congress could have been installed a lot quicker, on the Senate side than 1980.
