Welcome to my victory party!  Thanks to everyone who voted for me and to everyone, in the Mideast and not, who helped me.  JCL, you ran an honest race, and I thank you for that.  Hopefully I can live up to your expectations in the next four months; if I fail, let me know in this thread!

The very difference in the race was 5 individuals who chose you or abstained when their views were much closer to mine. 4 of them I'm quite sure chose you because they chose loyalty to a friend. That is something I do have to give you credit on. Plus you had a massive endorsement edge even among Whigs and other conservatives outside the region. If only both of us could be senators.

Any advice for a future campaign? On how I could communicate my view better

I would sing my hymn I wrote about Ben here, but I'm sure he's already read it. Congrats again, Ben. Proud I lived long enough to see this day!

I know, right? All my friends are in the Senate now. If I was still there, we could've been so corrupt together!

Congrats on your reelection, Ben! It is great to have a Senator whose forte is foreign policy and I look forward to your contributions on that and all the other topics the Senate shall confront these next four months.

Thanks to everyone for the congratulations; I particularly enjoyed Duke's song of jubilation.

Indeed, Senator.  And may I say I strongly support your latest bill.

I encourage everyone to go check out my new legislation, The Judiciary Reform Act of 2012, in the Legislation Introduction Thread, and give me feedback!

Congratulations on your re-election. As I stated earlier, while I supported JCL, the conservative in the race, I think you are doing a fine job representing our region in the Senate.

I want to take this opportunity to thank the Supreme Court for making the right decision in the Tweed case, and allowing democracy to stand.

Everyone, I have decided that I will be running for reelection.  I hope I can earn your support again.  In the meantime, please let me know how you think I'm doing.

Completely endorsed, we've always had the occasional foreign policy disagreement, but your work and commitment all of these year has earned you this position. The people of the Mideast are lucky to have you.

Feel free to move to the Mideast and make good on that endorsement Wink

I cannot say for sure that I am going to vote for you in October - I simply don't know who else is planning to run for Senate - but I think you have done a good job in the Senate and if you win re-election the Mideast will continue to be represented well.

With the At-Large elections looming, I am issuing my tentative endorsements, which may be revised if candidates declare in the coming days (listed in no particular order):

Franzl
Andrew
Clarence
Bacon King
Marokai

I've known all 5 of these men for a long time, and they will all serve the Senate well and with dignity.

I now have an opponent; good luck to Jake in the coming election.  He's a good man, and I'm sure the race will be honest and clean on both sides Smiley
