You know there is something special about college football when even WE (Illini fans) get excited each year, at least at the beginning. Tongue

I'll post my picks in the next day or so, pumped for the season to start!  Quick roll call on whom everyone roots for??

I, of course, cheer for the ever-frustrating Illinois Fighting Illini.

Yeah, just to be clear I have been tailgating and to a Vandy game while my friend was in law school there - I actually thought it wasn’t bad, a bit underrated and probably suffers compared to the conference a bit unfairly - but I would rather spend my time in Nashville, well, doing what we’ll be doing.  I’m just itchin’ for college football, is all, and I’m not sure I’ve seen a top 5-ranked team play in person in 10-13 years.

Gettin' my picks in order now, but I believe you have Western Kentucky/FIU listed twice, and therefore there are only 24 games this week?  Just wanted to clarify, thanks!

I know it was only Akron, but I was thoroughly impressed with the improvement Illinois showed vs. the last two years.  They are 17.5 favorites at UConn and have EMU at home after that ... again, week opponents, but I would be ecstatic at the thought of a 3-0 Illini team hosting an overrated Nebraska on the 21st.  Anyway:

Army at #7 Michigan
#21 Syracuse at Maryland
Old Dominion at Virginia Tech
UAB at Akron
West Virginia at Missouri
Vanderbilt at Purdue
South Florida at Georgia Tech
#12 Texas A&M at #1 Clemson
#25 Nebraska at Colorado
ILLINOIS at UConn
San Diego State at UCLA
Western Kentucky at FIU
#18 UCF at FAU
North Texas at SMU
BYU at Tennessee
Coastal Carolina at Kansas
#6 LSU at #9 Texas
Arkansas at Ole Miss
Miami (FL) at North Carolina
Arkansas State at UNLV
Cal at #14 Washington
#23 Stanford at USC
Oregon State at Hawaii
The Citadel at Elon
Chattanooga at Jacksonville State

It’s UConn and all, but this is historic ... Illinois is a 20+ point favorite on the road.  Beautiful.
