Precisely. I got your orders, Junkie and I'm going to resolve them as soon as I have US non-combat.

Sorry for the delay guys. Note that this incorporates both a lot of American non-combat moves (basically moving ships with troops all over the globe) and a successful but bloody Russian attack on Ukraine.

Russia mobilized all of its forces in Moscow. It is now Germany's turn and they have 39 PUs.

Germany was on the defensive and quietly prepared for invasion by pouring out a Volkstürm of new infantry to defend the Fatherland.

The RAF launched a daring bombing attack on the German forces in the Balkans, but this attack sadly ended in disaster with the British aircrafts being shot down at first sight. In Western Europe British forces launched a bloody assault. When the dust cleared only aircraft remained on the British side. On the Asian front all British forces assembled to assault Kwantung and succeeded in taking it only after losing half their armour and all of their infantry. The Axis had fought back well, but things still looked grim.

I haven't heard from Mikado. I will contact him, but I've been away for a week.

Mikado has said that he's out. I'm not sure whether that means he's giving up or merely that he doesn't feel like playing on. I'd like to see what Bacon King says. If he wants to take over Japan we can carry on, and if he wants to give up I'll award it to the Allies.

Well, now that they do seem to have given up I think I can step out of my moderator position and say that the game is in reality pretty much over. Great show by the allies!

If anyone is interested it might be possible to run another round.

Well, that makes us 3. I'm sure Turin is also up for it. If we get 2 more we're good to go. Smiley

Ok, then, let's see. We have a total of 5 people, right?

Junkie
Me
Turin
Bacon King
Tmth

So, the question is basically whether one person should play two countries or whether you all trust me enough to let me take part. Tongue

On the contrary, Bullmoose, on the contrary. We are thus set to go. Please send me a PM stating your order of preference for the different nations. First PM gets first preference and so on.

For the record, the players are:

Bacon King
Bullmoose
Turin
Junkie
Tmth

Amusingly enough the first 2 people to PM me had identical preference lists.

I've been contemplating that. Joe is the only moderator of this board and he hasn't been active since January, so we're not going to get this thread unstickied and a new one stickied. Due to that, I'm leaning towards carrying on in this thread, so I'll do that unless you guys want me not to.

How do you feel?

I refer everyone to the first post of this thread, to see rules and stuff. For those who didn't take part in the first game I especially advice reading it to see how I will be running things.

Ok, first turn is played out, speedy resolution from BK!

The Soviets basically poured most of their resources into a determined attack on West Russia (2 armour, artillery and fighters + 4 infantry) against the weak German defence (1 armour, 1 artillery 3 infantry). 2 Russian infantry lost, while wiping out the defenders.

The rest of the Soviet move was basically just shoring up the frontlines in West and East.

Map (I think you should be able to open it in a new window/tab and zoom in on it):

That is strange, since I didn't do anything differently.

This one is better but I'm afraid still not good enough?

No, I can zoom in on that one; it's good now. Sure you didn't do anything differently?

Pretty much - I never did much with these pictures anyway. It might that imageshack made some changes I suppose.

Or, well, with the second one I did manually adjust it when uploading to the greatest possible resolution. But I never had to do that before to get it right.

Ok, this last one works perfectly for me - just right-click, open in a new tab and zoom in. Hope it works for everyone else too!

The German Atlantic submarines struck against the unprotected transports outside Canada. With both sides laughably incompetent the battle dragged on for an eternity until the woefully inept German subs inexplicably keeled over.

In the Mediterranean, German naval and air forces wiped out the British force, but not without losing half of their involved fighters.

On the landfront the Germans threw everything and the kitchen sink at Karelia and swept the Soviet defenders off the face of the Earth in no time.

Germany regrouped after the bloodbath, shipping units to Algeria, shoring up Ukraine and gathering air force in Norway.

It is now United Kingdom's turn! You have 30 IPC to spend.

I feel sorry for Bullmoose - he suffered a lot of bad luck this round. The remnants of the British Mediterranean fleet, supported by the RAF bomb wings, counter-attacked the German navy in Western Mediterranean. The rest of the RAF combined with Canadian and British naval and land forces to liberate Norway. The naval battle ended in bitter defeat with the British forces wiped out. The attack on Norway also turned ill-fated - with both sides reduced to nothing the province would stay in German hands. In the Far East the RAF struck against the unprotected Japanese transports fleet off Shanghai, wiping it out, and the ANZAC forces captured New Guinea.
