They're right about not breaking up spaghetti before tossing it into the water, or mixing chicken with
anything containing tomato sauce. My mom (but not my grandmother -- strange) did those things, and I still felt the wrongness of it. (Yes, I ate it. I was not an ungrateful little wretch. Well, I am, but not for turning my nose up at dinner).
But their injunctions in that Twitter thread about "Italians never cook with butter!", "Lasagne is always made with bechamel!" and "Fettuccine Alfredo is American invention" is just ignorant.
