I don't follow all the maps. All the images of the whole state look the same with the same divisions. Should there just be one image of the state and one of Wayne county?

It's the map used for the 1922, 1924, 1926, 1928 and 1930 elections.

I suppose the color represents the fact that Republicans held all districts but one in 1922, and all districts without exception at the remaining elections.

Given that the district map was still pretty much the same in the 50s as it was in the 30s, where does the problem lie?

Population... 1910 to 1960 (as no reapportionment occurred in 1920, I assume that the 1910 map continued to be used. And just as assumed, the 1920s districts make more sense on 1910 than 1920 figures.)

2nd district (excluding Wayne co portion removed after 1930): 1910 179k, 1920 207k, 1930 260k, 1940 286k, 1950 383k, 1960 483k
3rd district: 1910 203k, 1920 226k, 1930 262k, 1940 283k, 1950 350k, 1960 428k
4th district: 1910 195k, 1920 200k, 1930 225k, 1940 242k, 1950 292k, 1960 367k
5th district: 1910 204k, 1920 231k, 1930 295k, 1940 306k, 1950 362k, 1960 412k
old 6th district (excluding Wayne co portion removed after 1930): 1910 185k, 1920 315k, 1930 559k.
new 6th district (ie excluding Oakland co): 1930 348k, 1940 379k, 1950 471k, 1960 624k
7th district: 1910 215k, 1920 219k, 1930 265k, 1940 314k, 1950 415k, 1960 665k
8th district: 1910 240k, 1920 257k, 1930 277k, 1940 295k, 1950 333k, 1960 398k
9th district: 1910 208k, 1920 203k, 1930 214k, 1940 237k, 1950 275k, 1960 313k
10th district: 1910 203k, 1920 199k, 1930 187k, 1940 219k, 1950 255k, 1960 309k
11th district: 1910 231k, 1920 216k, 1930 205k, 1940 225k, 1950 228k, 1960 241k
12th district: 1910 216k, 1920 219k, 1930 205k, 1940 200k, 1950 178k, 1960 177k
Oakland County (part of 17th in 1930s. Equals 18th in 1950s): 1930 211k, 1940 254k, 1950 396k, 1960 690k
Wayne County (1st, 13th, parts of 2nd and 6th in 1920s. 1st, 13th-16th and part of 17th in 1930s. 1st and 13th-17th in 1950s): 1910 532k, 1920 1.177mio, 1930 1.889mio, 1940 2.016mio, 1950 2.435mio, 1960 2.666mio

Yeah i misread the data I had the 1940's should be easy. I should have them up tommorrow with the 1960 and maybe the 70's. See for some years I only have data other years I just have a map. I turns out the 1940 are the same as the 1930's.

I wish the UP still had two districts, instead of half of one (population wise) like it does now.

Hell, it's 400 miles from one end of the district to the other (Ironwood to just north of Bay City). I wonder if any other district east of the Mississippi can claim that.

I can see Lake Superior from my window. Smiley Marquette, as Lewis said.
