January 2002 of the Gore Administration

A New Year!

January 3, 2002 - Congress Celebrates its one year anniversary in office.

January 5, 2002 - 15 year old student pilot, Bishop, crashes Cessna into Tampa Building, killing 5 people. January 11, 2002 - Al Gore says "It's a good day" when the first 9/11 suspects arrive at the Guantanmo Bay Prison in Cuba

January 12, 2002 - Al Gore announces all 9 of his nominees to fill the Supreme Court which became vacant after the 9/11 attacks, Congress also authorizes Emergency Funding to rebuild the Supreme Court and the Pentagon.

Gore's 9 nominees

For Chief Justice:

1. Michael Mukasey, Judge of the United States District Court, Southern District NY

"...America, our Union is strong, our foreign presence is strong, and our domestic presence is too, we are focusing on defeating terrorism and protecting our people, we are also focused on domestic improvements, our children's educations, and our economy..."

May 2002 of the Gore Administration

May 1st, 2002 - Following a State Department memo naming Iran, Cuba, Libya, North Korea, Sudan and Syria, President Gore announced his intentions to gain influence over each one of them under the 100 days to conduct troop movements without a war declaration power of the President.

May 7th, 2002 - The Defense Department completes attack plans to initiate regime change policies in those six countries. In Iraq, Nation Building had already been successful, the United States had secured a new Democratic Ally in the Middle East, and in Afghanistan, US and Joint Coalition Forces were making progress, as they had already captured 35 key Al Qaeda fighters and executed them.

- In Iran the President would conduct Airstrikes on Tehran and Mashad, to destroy key military and governmental targets, including the main Air Base in Tehran.

- In Cuba the President would deploy 100,000 troops and conduct airstrikes on Havana, as well as using Naval Reserves and a Federalized Florida Nation Guard to annex Cuba as a US Territory.

- In Libya the President would sign Sanctions Passed by Congress to help reduce the international purchase of Libyan Oil, harming their economy, and forcing them into the pocket of the United States.

- In North Korea US forces, in conjunction with South Korean Forces, would overrun North Korea at the DMZ, the US would annex North Korea, and by treaty, would deliver the territory to South Korea, to create a United Korea as an American ally.

- In Sudan the United States cut financial aid, preventing clean water and food purchases by the people in Sudan.

- In Syria the United States conducted airstrikes, saying Syria would be a threat to Israel.

Gore's plan had a mixed response, while it was largely successful, especially in Cuba, many Human Rights Groups criticized Gore as the interventionist of the century.
