So Mexican citizens wouldn't be allowed to use government services that White citizens are able to use?
Please think before you post another misguided statement like this.  What exactly is a "white citizen?"  Do you mean an American citizen, because that would be irrespective of race.  Also, you contrast "white" with Mexican, which in the context of the argument would not be a matter of race but a matter of nationality.

As far as the question at hand, I'll anti-amnesty.  I'm opposed to the principle of illegal immigration, along the problems of crime and security a lack of control of the border creates.  Overall though, we need to greatly bring up immigrations quotas and speed up and simplify the process for citizenship.

You can play semantics, but that's obviously not what he meant.

He is rather, correctly, implying that much of the atmosphere against illegal immigration is thanks to racist views.

I think classism among the upper class, a general skepticism of the poor people seeking a better life here, might play a part but I'm turned off by the cynicism that says that racism is a primary motivation.

Nope, my view hasn't really changed any.  I still think that anyone here illegally as a result of slow processing of paperwork by the US should automatically be eligible for a green card.  If the foreigner is doing everything that is expected of them in accordance to their contract (ie, Visa), then it is the US failing to do their part.  As a result, the foreigner should be compensated by granting them a green card.  That will put the pressure on the US to get their act (and their paperwork) in order to not let it happen again.

Well, I have definitely found that libertarians- who are supposed to be socially accepting- oppose immigration vehemently because they don't want more people accessing social services like welfare or health care.  So you're right about that.
