To be clear, Hasbro didn't cancel the Potato Head part, just the Mr. part. Unsurprisingly, the right-wing culture warrior potato heads are incensed, and they are directing their rage at The Left™. Naturally, this means that the leader of The Left™, Joe Biden, is at fault, because the buck stops at the President's desk. What do you think? Is Biden responsible for this?

The MAGA people care a lot. If their opinion didn't matter, how come they got a president elected?

I'm non-binary, and I can tell than I really couldn't care less about the gender of a toy. This is useless virtue signaling.

Something that the Democrats do quite well.

It's not even virtue signaling, it's an expansion of the Potato Head line to include grandparents and whatnot. The middle-aged male Potato Head is still called Mr. Potato Head. It's not the kind of marketing decision that's worthy of either support or opposition except in terminally-online no-war-but-the-culture-war Weimar America.

Absolutely.  "The buck stops here."

This never would have occurred under a Truman Administration.

Under Truman, there was very little of this social justice nonsense that we see now.

I fully support the LBTQ + community (and am part of it), and I couldn't care less.

This is one of the most brilliant marketing gimmicks of all time. I can't imagine a better way to get everyone talking about a mediocre, decades-old children's toy. The last time anyone did something this innovative with Mr. Potato Head, they were making a bong out of him.

Are you kidding? Truman desegregated the military! It was one of the biggest social justice moves in American history and he did it over lots of opposition. Truman did less for social justice than, say, LBJ, but desegregating the military was a major step in that direction.

In any event MAGA-land and the rest of the right-wing should absolutely focus all of their time and energy on this and ignore everything else like what Congress is doing Grin

Presidents are held responsible for everything good and bad that happens during their term.

1. The Electoral College is undemocratic and sucks.

2 being an ignoramus is not a legal bar to voting.

Other than that whole civil rights and desegregating the Army thing. But do go on....

To be frank, though I dislike Biden, whoever is president has no effect over this kind of stuff at this point.

I'm amazed by how many liberalish non-political friends were unexpectedly outraged by this for some bizarre reason. It is hard to think of a less consequential controversy.
