In some countries (such as Brazil), the president is limited to two consecutive terms, such as in the U.S., but is allowed to run again the future, provided that at least one full term has elapsed since they were last in office. (This policy also applies to the governors of several U.S. states.)

Now imagine that the President of the United States, instead of being bound to two terms for life, was allotted future runs, and in 2020, Barack Obama decides to run for a third term. Who does he choose as his running mate? And what does the map look like against Trump?

This plus Iowa, ME-2, and maybe Texas for Obama.

While the popular vote is somewhat closer than Obama's two prior victories, thanks to Trump's legion of supporters, he flips enough votes to recapture Michigan, Florida, Pennsylvania and North Carolina, plus pick up Georgia and Arizona.

Obama/Warren 50.1% 340 EV
Trump/Pence 48.6% 198 EV
