My Friends and fellow Lincolnites.
Today, I have announced that I shall stand as a candidate for the Lincoln Council.
Seven years prior to this date, I was witness to the beginning of a new age in Atlasian History. Filled with a sense of hope and newfound pride in our political future, we created the Labor Party as a organization for progressive change and a voice for the oppressed. We sought to achieve an end to the status quo and a revitalization of Atlasian politics. The memory of building this political party and my service in the Northeast Assembly has inspired me to create the Labor Left as a coalition for those who remain true to this dream.
Now, we stand at a new threshold. The final passage of the Philadelphia Plan has instituted a new form of government in Lincoln. Novel it may be, the parliamentary system has the potential to unleash a degree of democratic representation we have not yet experienced in our region. With the proper tools in place, Lincoln can lead the charge in fulfilling the needs of its population and thereby set an example to be followed beyond our borders.
I believe that as a active member of the regional council, I can work to further this righteous objective. I seek, as Labor had at its founding, to act as a megaphone for the working classes and ensure that our government works for all of us. From healthcare and transportation to transparency and voting rights, we CAN build a brighter future.
I welcome you all to join me.
Thank you.
