Wolf Blitzer: Its 10 in the East and we can project that the President will carry the states of Iowa , Montana, Utah and Nevada.

Romney 383
Clinton 13
Sanders 3

We can also project that Senator Jane Nortan will be reelected as Senator Colorado and Steve Bullock will be reelected as Governor of Montana.

Anderson Cooper: So now there is only 2 Battleground Senate races and 1 Battleground Gubernatorial Race left

Wolf Blitzer: We are told that both Secretary Clinton and Senator Sanders will speak this hour so lets head there

Hilary Clinton's Concession Speech

Clinton: Thank You, Thank You all so very much. A short while ago I spoke with the President and congratulated him on his victory and told him that I will be wishing for his success over the next 4 years, because his success will determine if our country will succeed. While we may not have won this election, we need to remember our campaign was just not about electing me or just about winning this election but about the vision of how we want our nation to look like(Applause) , and while we may have lost this year the fight to bring a hopeful, inclusive and big-hearted America never ends(Applause).

I want to thank my good friend Tom Vilsack for all the hard work he put in this campaign, and want to let him know that it was an high honor for him to be my running mate and he would have been one of the best Vice Presidents our nation has ever seen(Applause). I also want to thank all my supporters, and volunteers because without you this campaign would never have gone has far as it did, and while we didnt shatter that highest and hardest glass ceiling, we did put some cracks into it and I am confident that someday we will break that glass ceiling(Applause). I want to end by telling the little girls who are watching this tonight, never doubt that you are valuable and you deserve every opportunity in this world to do whatever you may want(Applause). Thank You Again , May God Bless You and May God Bless America.

Bernie Sanders's Concession Speech

Sanders: Thank You, Thank You. A short while ago I spoke with the President and congratulated him on his re-election victory, and told him that I look forward to working him on policies that will benefit the working class(Applause). While we may have lost this election, this is not the end but the beginning, remember our campaign slogan is a Future to Believe in(Laughter) and your effort is the beginning of a movement not the end. Because of you , we became the first third-party candidate in nearly 50 years to win a state(Applause) and won a highest % of the vote by a socialist in our history(Applause).

So while we may have lost this election, tonight is not the day we end our efforts to pass universal healthcare, tuition-free college, ending the wars and using that money to rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure,  and make our unions strong again but instead change the way how we fight for them. Remember the Civil Rights Act wasnt passed due to an election mandate, but because of activists all over the country like MLK and Rosa Parks who fought to make it happen(Applause), so we must continue our fight as the only way these changes happen is if we work together to make it happen(Applause) . I want to end by once again thanking all my supporters, and volunteers for all the hard work they put in this campaign because without you there is no way we would have gone as far as we did(Applause).

CNN - America's Choice 2016 (Hour Four)

11:00
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bz9xY_CoC_M

Wolf Blitzer: The polls have closed in the West and we can project that the President will win the states of Idaho, Oregon, and Washington while the States , California and Hawaii are all too early to call.

Romney 406
Clinton 13
Sanders 3

We can also project that Congressman Joe Heck will defeat Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Mastro to become the next Senator of Nevada. This means all they need  is to hold Alaska which is considered a safe Republican seat and they will retain their filibuster-proof majority in the Senate . John if Romney wants to win CA what doe he need to do

John King: Match Bush performance in 2004 , and that means running up the total in Orange County, win San Diego, San Bernardino, San Luis counties, increase margins in Rural counties and that will get him the win. It wouldn't be enough in a two-person race but in 3 person race it will be.

Wolf Blitzer: Gloria what do you think is the path forward for the Dems after this

Gloria Borger: They need to focus on down-ballot and starting rebuilding their strength there . Like Van Jones said they need to unify behind one message which can create potentially a new winning coalition in the future, and greatly improve their numbers in Congress. So they must focus first on 2018, not 2020 because if they do they will not gain much in 2020 and then lose 2020 badly again.

Wolf Blitzer: We are going to talk to BBC's lead anchor for their election coverage David Dimbleby and he will share his thoughts and make an interesting comparison. David you said you see some similarties between the Democratic party today and Labour in the 1980s

David Dimbleby: Thanks for having me on Wolf, but yes I do. Labour throughout the 1980s were completely shut out of power similarly to the Democrats today and really struggled throughout that decade to be an effective opposition due to infighting between the more left wing of the party and the more center of the party and due to that it allowed Margaret Thatcher to win two big landslides in 1983 and 1987 and have absolute power. Similarly, with the Dems they are divided between their left wing and centrist wings and that has allowed the Romney and the Republicans to have total power as well.

Wolf Blitzer: What are some ways Labour got back

David : Well I wouldnt say Labour model is the model to follow because if you remember it took them 14 years after 1983 to come back. The reason for that is even after 1983 Labour didnt really fix the divisions in the party and while they did run a good campaign in 1987 they still lost in a landslide. What they did though was unite behind a more centrist figure after all the wings in the party was tired of losing for so long , Conservatives started to collapse as well due to divisions in their own party , party fatigue and scnadal by incumbent part. If Dems follow that model it will be quite some time before they ever come back , so I would advise them to follow the path they themselves used in the 1980s after losing to Reagan in landslides.

Wolf: Thank You and now we will head to where President Romney will give his victory speech.

Romney's Victory Speech:

Romney: Thank You Thank You. A Short While ago , Secretary Clinton and Senator Sanders called to congratulate me(Applause) and I told them that they were great opponents and should be proud of the campaigns they ran. While we may disagree on the issues, Secretary Clinton should be congratulated for inspiring millions of Americans and becoming the first female to be nominated by a major party(Applause) which showed our kids no matter if they are a boy or girl they can do whatever job they want to do, and Senator Sanders inspired millions of young Americans and became the first third-party candidate in 48 years to win a state so he deserves our congratulations too(Applause).

I also want to once again thank my supporters and volunteers for all their hard work not only in this campaign but throughout the past 4 years and due to that we were able to be as successful as we where in making the reforms we needed to make our country better. While we have made lots of progress there is still a lot of work to go , because as Ronald Reagan used to say America's best days are always ahead of us and the only way to reach that goal is to continue to make improvements that make our nation better. Thank You , May God Bless you and May God Bless America.

CNN - America's Choice 2016 (Rest of Results )

12:00 am
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bz9xY_CoC_M

Wolf Blitzer: CNN can now project that the State of Hawaii will be won by the President and Maine's 1st District will be won by Senator Sanders

Romney 410
Clinton 13
Sanders 4

1:00 am

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bz9xY_CoC_M

Wolf Blitzer: We can now project that President Romney will win the states of Illinois and Alaska who's polls just closed.

Romney 433
Clinton 13
Sanders 4

Anderson Cooper: Interesting that despite the fact that President Romney has a less % of the vote than Kirk does yet Senator Kirk currently is very slightly trailing.

John King: Well its because Senator Kirk unlike Romney is facing a united opposition.

Anderson Cooper: Just letting viewers know

John King: Yes and same will be true if Romney wins California as that wont mean CA is a Republican state it just means the GOP won due to a huge win nationally and a divided GOP opposition both of which are rare to happen in the future.

2:00 am

Wolf Blitzer: We can project that Secretary Clinton will win the State of New York meaning she will able to win her own home state and Romney will not get over 500 votes tonight . On the other hand we can also project that President Romney will win in Rhode Island

Romney 437
Clinton 42
Sanders 4

5:30 am

Chris Cuomo: Since the official coverage ended last night with California, Illinois Senate, and North Carolina Governor Race still to close to call , whenever we can make a projection in one of those states we will interrupt live coverage to tell you. Right now we can do that for two of the races and they are we can project that the State of California a soldily Democratic State will go to Mitt Romney. Now the numbers for that state are we can say going to be Romney 45% , Clinton 44.2% and Sanders at 10.5% .Now here is the final electoral map on the board

Romney 492
Clinton 42
Sanders 4

We can also project that Congressman Duckworth will narrowly defeat Senator Kirk meaning she will be the next Senator of Illionis. So that will mean neither party will officially gain any seats in the Senate and the balance of power will be : 60 Republicans 39 Democrats, 1 Green Party.

12:15 PM

John King: We can finally make a projection in the North Carolina Governor Race and that is that the Democrat Roy Cooper will be the next Governor of the State of , North Carolina.

Wow that's a landslide. Tbh though Romney may have a slight increase in a no Bernie race as some Bernie voters just wouldn't turn out, not 100% would go to Clinton.

Secretary of State Richard Lugar and a few other cabinet members announce that they wont stay on the job after the end of this term

Lugar: It has been one of the highest honors in my life to serve as Secretary of State for this great nation , but I have decided to step down from the position at the end of this term. It is very important for a Secretary of State to be able to serve the full 4 years, and since I dont think I would remain as Secretary of State for more than 2 more, I have decided to step down.

Media Member: Will you take another position in the Romney Cabinet or Whitehouse

Lugar: If the President wants to I would be willing to stay on as an advisor but I dont think its in the best interest for the country and administration for me to remain as Secretary of State if I won't be able to stay for the full 4 years.

Anderson Cooper: Also Attorney General Robert Mueller announced that he would be retiring, Commerce Secretary Whitman and Energy Secretary Gerard will leave the administration to go back to the private sector. A couple other cabinet members also stepping down will be Secretary Frist and Secretary Peterson.

Breaking News: Justice Anthony Kennedy retires from the Supreme Court, and his resignation will be effective upon confirmation of successor . President releases statement on the news

Romney: As you may know, Justice Anthony Kennedy has decided to retire from the Supreme Court after serving on the highest court for nearly 29 years. During those 29 years Justice Kennedy proved over and over how he was one of the most brilliant legal minds of our generation and deserves to be honored for his service during those years.

Media Member: Do you have any idea of who you will nominate to be his successor

Romney: Currently no, as we haven't begin the official vetting process, and until that is complete we wont be able to create a shortlist of names from which we will select someone from to be our next Supreme Court Justice

Breaking News: Allied forces kill ISIS Leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and other ISIS leaders in an Air Strike .

Wolf Blitzer: We have some breaking news, and that is the leader of ISIS Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has been killed in an Allied air strike in Syria. With the Allies totally defeating ISIS in Iraq and now on the verge of defeating them in Syria, killing the leader of ISIS just puts them closer to their goal of total Victory. Here was the President's reaction to the news

Romney: Earlier today Allied forced in a jointly coordinated airstrike was able to take out the top leader of ISIS Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi along with many other of their leaders in Syria. This along with the fact that we have destroyed ISIS in Iraq and on the verge of destroying them in Syria means that we finally close to totally winning this war , and good will defeat evil once again like it has done at so many other points in history.

David Brooks Explains why Democrats are having such a hard time opposing Romney

Fareed Zakaria: Why do you think Democrats have had such a hard time opposing Romney

David Brooks: Well its simple , Romney is a different type of Republican President and Democrats are still trying to fight the old battles. Its in actuality very similar to the Democrats back in the 1980s who also struggled to fight Reagan due to the fact they tried to fight him with the old playbook but the fact is Reagan was a different type of Republican and it didnt work . Another similarity is that while the Democrats held the House in the Senate and had more senators than they do now , if you remove the Boll Weevils who in most cases voted in line with Reagan more than Ted Kennedy doe example and add them to the Republican caucus the Republicans position in congress then is similar to it now.

Zakaria: What made Reagan and now Romney different

Brooks: Well to understand how they are different you have to first understand how the party was before they became President. The GOP before Reagan was basically divided between two wings the Conservative wing led by Taft and Goldwater and the more moderate Republicans led by Nelson Rockefeller . On economic issues both Taft and Goldwater were basically supporters of Classical Economics while Rockefeller was a supporter of Keynesian economics just a little less so than the Democrats. Both wings were unelectable because on one side people didnt want to abolish things such as the New Deal and return to Classical Economics, while on the other side the Rockefeller Wing, would take issues away from the Democrats, would basically become Democratic lite and thus not give their own base a reason to vote for them. So what you would have is people like Richard Nixon triangulate between the wings and they would win but the problem was they would be easily pushed to one side by either wing and eventually alienate both

Reagan then came around and said no we can be conservative without being total defender of status quo or wanting to go back to how things used to be before FDR and you can take issues away from the democrats without being democratic lite. The way he did that used his conservative beliefs to solve economic problems that existed then and eventually they worked and he  transformed Macroeconomic Policy in the US and united the Republicans on economic issues.

Similarly, Romney on the issues of healthcare was able to the same thing by using conservative principle to pass reforms to thy system. Similarly, in his next term he plans to address climate change but wants to use conservative free market solutions to solve these problems. What this does is simple it makes people see that Republicans arent defenders of the status quo and reactionary but instead want to solve problems as well. If this is successful it would mean he would create a new consensus around these policies where the room for debate becomes just implementing liberal or conservative versions of these policies and Republicans would be united on these issues totally just like they are united on Reaganomics.

The problem with he Dems though is they are fighting Romney like he is George W Bush which he clearly isnt . Also with so many issues being taken away from them they no longer can use those issues to get elected and that has really hurt their ability to be an effective opposition party .
