Can Trump be jailed and still win the election from inside jail? It would be extremely historical if he did it so.

Yes. Eugene Debs did it in 1920 while serving a ten year sentence for making an anti-war speech where he encouraged resisting the military draft.

Probably helps Biden, but we'll have to see what things look like when the dust settles around July 1. Could see it helping Trump by 1 point all the way to Biden by 5 points.

Unbelievable witch hunt. I'd been wavering a bit lately but now I'm ride or die for Trump. They have only made him - and us - stronger.

You're voting for a convicted felon, dawg
OK, and? As I said, this trial was a witch hunt based on a nonsense legal theory and with a judge who repeatedly deviated from standard procedure and conduct to tilt the scales against Trump. I don't give a rat's ass what the verdict was in terms of whether I view it as legitimate.

Will you return to Discord. You were a great poster and hope you decide to come back

we'd have more of it if the Federal govt didn't take 5 years to approve new connections to the grid

We have to cut almost all red tape when it comes to renewable anergy, I agree, I think Biden is making good progress on this. A Trump admin will do a worse job. Trump ahs already called for rollbacks on Solar, Wind, EV, and batteries.

About the only thing I am not in favor of is Biden's dumb China tariffs on renewable energy products. But Trump would probably keep them too.

One (very minor) effect of this is that Trump is now not eligible to vote in Florida until he has completed "all of the terms of his sentence"; he probably won't have the opportunity to vote for himself in this election.

All this whining shows you know deep down in your heart he's guilty. Stop trying to fake it

The defense must've really screwed up. Wasn't following it super closely but this seemed like the easiest case to beat.

Seems like no really good lawyer wanted him as client.

Susan Necheles and Emil Bove are actually very good lawyers. It's Todd Blanche who had the less than stellar resume. Curious as to why he led the defense instead of Necheles and Bove who are stronger counsel

Necheles was meh, Blanche was awful, and Bove was an embarrassment to the profession (well so was Blanche)

Donald Trump found guilty on all 34 felony charges

Quote
A Manhattan jury found Donald Trump guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records he faced in his New York hush money criminal trial.

Trump is the first president in US history to be convicted of a felony.

Prosecutors accused Trump of taking part in an illegal conspiracy to undermine the integrity of the 2016 election and an unlawful plan to suppress negative information, which included concealing a hush money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels.

Judge Juan Merchan set a sentencing hearing for July 11.

As a convicted felon he can't vote in Florida, haha!

This may not be true, according to something NickG posted above to the effect that Florida disenfranchises felons with out-of-state convictions only if they lose their voting rights in the state of conviction, and NY only disenfranchises those who are currently in prison.  (I haven't confirmed this.)

This is true.
