It may be wishful thinking, but I really don't think this will matter.

A) This race is nationalized, do people really care about the candidates that much?  Most people voting for Cal are voting for Dem control of the senate.

B) The story is kinda dumb.  There's no evidence Cal had sex with this woman.  They sent some consensual, flirty texts.  In the age of Trump, do NC voters really care?

C) There's far more important news happening right now.  Will NC voters really find it in their hearts to give a damn about some flirtatious texts when the POTUS is in the hospital with a deadly infections disease and well-known politicians are dropping like flies?

Someone who knows more about NC politics, or is on the ground, should fill us all in.

I can't tell how much, if at all, this affects the race since Covid news is all over the place, but makes the Montana and Iowa senate races even more important. Democrats could still get to 50 or 51 seats if they win Colorado, Arizona, Maine and one of them (given Jones loses).
