If the previous poster is an independent or other, then just have the poster run in the primary of the party closest to his or her beliefs.

Wallace '72 (not comparing you politically to Wallace. Just think you would do well in the South and around Kentucky and the Rust Belt)

Side note: I didn't intend for this format to be "candidate +year" but I like it. Kudos to the first person who did that
