Look folks, the Democratic vote magnets of Essex and Hudson are almost in.  I really don't see where else Corzine makes up ground.

ACORN can't seem to rig elections as well as has been reported

Christie seemed to have surged with the undecideds at the end as the Dagger's support collapsed...people don't really like wasting their vote as much as has been purported

Since Hudson is 98% in and Essex is 84% in there probably aren't a lot of Dem strongholds left.

LOL, according to a few Dems on TV, there was a lot of mixed and Republican district voting more so than Democratic district voting. Lying in the face of defeat. Wow... they just don't get it, or are trying hard to save face.

Interesting since it's usually the case that undecideds in NJ favor the Democrat.

The bright spot here for Democrats is that they surprisingly appear to have lost just one Assembly seat.

The only thing that could save him is if some magic happened in Salem, since none of that's come in yet, but still - all the media outlets have called it, and after 2000, they're a lot more careful in calling.  It's over.

Indeed.  They held up well there, mostly by outspending the Republicans.  They won't be able to do that come 2011.

WEll, I'm doing cartwheels GAAA-LOOOORE. I can;t believe the NJ GOP pulled it off.

I ordered my crow with extra salt...and it just came. And I will gladly eat it with a glass of chocolate milk.

You can all throw eggs at my face now. I'll stand still.

Republicans experienced a lot more pain a year ago. This is just part of our "getting back them" operation. Tongue

Now, he's just gotta keep it under 50%, because I'd just be depressed if I didn't go 4/4 on my gubernatorial prediction score. Tongue

Unfortunately, due to some missing counties, it's hard to figure out what Assembly seats are going where.  Republicans did surprisingly well with the non-racist candidate in LD-03, and that one wasn't really centered in my radar.

The GOP also looks in surprisingly good shape in LD-04 (both seats), but I only have Gloucester to go on.

Never mind.  Found more data.  Smiley

District 18.  Whoa.

Barnes, Peter (i) Dem 17,687 25%
Diegnan, Patrick (i) Dem 17,611 25%
Sinagra, Joseph GOP 17,062 24%
Jones, Robert GOP 16,258 23%

Only 68% in, but still.

Otherwise, I don't think the GOP picked up anything in the Assembly.

And Democrats almost shot themselves in the foot in LD-38.  Clearly some backlash over the PORN and GUNS ad in my sig.

All in for LD-18.  This was almost a HUGE upset.

Barnes, Peter (i) Dem 24,745 26%
Diegnan, Patrick (i) Dem 24,444 25%
Sinagra, Joseph GOP 22,913 24%
Jones, Robert GOP 21,710 22%

This is a safe Dem district in Middlesex County.

With Christie as governor, who will likely be unpopular by then?  I think not.
