Kerry has little support in my neigboring state of DE, Lieberman in fact has the endorsement of many high officalls there
Lieberman will drop out after NH I think.

He should, but he said he wouldn't.

I don't know, Lieberman has some sort of agenda. I hope has enough grace to leave us after NH, that is in case Liebermania takes hold on Tuesday.
Liebermania?  Even if Lieberman finishes second in NH (very unlikely), he will not win a single 2/3 state.

No? Think of the enormous momentum he would get after a surprise finish in NH! Smiley

Nobody knows anything about Delaware, really, except they have a Division 2 college fottball team, called the Mud Hens, who won the title this year.

Politically, Delaware's upper county, New Castle county, is the most liberal of the 3.

Why are everyone suddenly being so mean to poor Delaware? All I know is that is used to be a bellweather, and it's really small and hard to click on in a map... Smiley

How was I being mean to Delaware?  When you mention Delaware to anybody in Ny, they always say "oh yeah, I drove through there once."

By saying that nobody knows anything about them, and mentioning the fact that they have a team somewhere way down...it looked a little mean to me... Smiley

Oh right, so Delaware is the Belgium of America? Wink

Haha! It's OK to be mean to the Belgians... Wink

Gustaf, you should love Delaware, formerly Swedish North America, but seized by the evil evil Dutch at some point in the 1600s. Delaware's most famous tourist attraction is the Old Swede's Church in Wilmington. Slaveholding until the Civil War, and considered a border state. Most of the state geographically, including the capital, Dover, have a Southern culture, accent, and voting tendencies. The strongest part of the state electorally is Wilmington in the north, seen as part of the greater Atlantic City/Philly area.

What all this means for Feb. 3 I have no clue.

Yes you're right! I had completely forgotten about that, but I do really know. The Dutch have always been mean to us, apart from the early days when they would support us against the Danes...damn Dutch...maybe I should change my avatar to Delaware at some point... Wink

I did know something about Delaware, but it's traditional to know nothing about it Smiley

For example:
"So your from Delaware? How...er interesting"

BTW don't be mean to the Belgians. They make the best beer in the whole world, invented chips, plastic and oil paint!
Smiley

Yes, I forgot about Pommes Frites, or fries. They also make good comics, like Tintin. They're renowned for their chocolate, but that's just for snobs, real people like me usually don't like it too much. Above all, the greatest detective of all times comes from Belgium! Smiley

Sherlock Holmes was Belgian! Who'd 'a thunk it?

Do you mean Hercule Poirot?

Yes, I like Poirot more than Holmes, Agatha Christie, the world's second most read author, was a far superior writer of detective novels, imo.

You see, Gustaf, and yet you do not observe. (puffs meditatively).

Oh, the "who'd 'a thunk it" was supposed to be a Poirot-like statement? I'm afraid that was way too subtle for me Sad ...also, I read most of my Agatha Christie novels at an early age, so the majority was in Swedish, a violation of my rule of always reading books in the original language when possible.

no, that was just me being silly- that's something Holmes says to Watson in, I think, the Read-Headed League. Don't take me too seriously!

He does? I read most of these in Swedish too, way back. I do remember the Read-Headed League though. It always seemes so stupid to me that would someone would buy the ridiculous idea of such an association... Wink

And don't worry, I don't take you that seriously... Smiley

The Oklahoma poll looks very consistent with the ones I've seen locally.

That's good! I think it's obvious by now that all states except Oklahoma and South Carolina will go clearly for Kerry. Kerry will get at least 2nd place in those 2 as well.

does anyone in the forum live in DE? im going to be in DE campagining for John Kerry tommorrow!!!!!!!!!
Nobody lives in Delaware.  Nobody ever has lived in Delaware. Nobody ever will live in Delaware.  Delaware is nonexistant.

(Sorry for insulting any Delawareans)

That would be really out of line...if it wasn't for the fact that there are no forum members from Delaware... Wink

DE exit poll:

Kerry 47%
Dean 14%
Lieberman 11%
Edwards 11%

YAY! Another exit poll! Smiley Not an unexpected result though. I hope Edwards can finish 3rd, it would be a fall in the right direction. Would this result give Kerry all the Delaware delegates?

Er..how exactly did Sharpton get one of the proportional delegates from Deleware?

I've been wondering the same thing, considering the fact that several candidates finished better than him.
