A concern troll? No. I'm a dedicated Great Society Liberal. I believe in any means of achieving more Liberal reforms. If it means getting a "Conservative" in there who can garner support for Liberal ideals, why not?

Talk to some hardcore conservative, Tea Party types. They think Romney's a secret Liberal, a RINO.

Romney has no core policy views. He does not think in terms of policies, but in terms of ends, with reelection being the key end, and the belief the people surrounding him have, having cut their teeth in 2004 and sat out 2008, is that this means consolidating Conservatives and running a Bush 2004 style effort. As such it will be government by AEI/Heritage, except to the extent that doing so interferes with reelection. And Romney and his advisers have a markerd paranoia about maintaining right-wing credentials, not unjustifiably after what happened in Iowa last time.

If your expecting anything more liberal than Bush II, you are being delusional. That said, Bush II is rapidly becoming the consensus choice for many policy positions so who knows.
