Summary: Removal of Barriers to Electric Car Purchases Act

The goal of this bill is to repeal regulations which make it more difficult for customers to buy cars directly from the manufacturer, which unfairly affects electric cars.

Section 1 repeals several State bans on car manufacturers from selling directly to customers without needing an intermediary dealership.

Below is some background on the dealership rules I seek to eliminate. Basically, a few States require a car manufacturer to sell cars to an independent wholesale dealership or else have some sort of physical wholesale presence in the State, in order to sell to end-users like us. It unfairly favors existing brands over new brands and makes it hard on Tesla and other new entrants to market their electric cars.
