If this really does prove to be a "nothing burger", that is a very damning indictment of this country and its people. There should be some things that represent a bridge too far, and I'd say literally being a criminal should be disqualifying. If Biden were literally convicted, I would not vote for him, and I would certainly lose respect for anyone who would continue to support him afterward because "other side bad" or who warped their worldview to think anything even suggesting that their preferred candidate isn't a good person must be "biased", "rigged", etc. People who still support Trump have no excuse. They don't have to vote for Biden. They don't even have to stop calling themselves Republicans. But if they knowing support a criminal despite all the "law and order" BS and clutching their pearls about "illegal" immigrants (and believing they deserve very harsh treatment), then they are despicable people with no values, no ifs ands or buts. My standards for this country are already very low, but I will see this country in an unequivocally negative light if it literally and knowingly elects a criminal president.

The country is SICK of being “indicted” by moralizing, ruling class elites.

One of the longest running gags of this forum is users “indicting” the general public for not voting the way they want them to. It’s a democracy bob.

Yeah, the people who chanted "stop the count" and did J6 are just mad because they love democracy so much

So now January 6th people are representative of 74 million voters? Now let’s start going into the 81 million Biden votes then… some I assume, were good people.

Even you know that’s a garbage characterization.

If you're still going to vote for the guy after he instigated the whole thing by refusing to concede and promoting his bogus election conspiracy theories, then yes.

Biden hasn't done anything remotely that bad not to mention the 300% increase in civilian casualties  from drone strikes while Trump was president, obstructing justice every time he gets investigated, and selling out the Kurds. I'd rather be "responsible" for Biden raising taxes or something than any of that.

Oh, you’re a Foreign Policy Voter. Understood — everything’s going extremely well, from what I can tell.

So does Farage win a seat? My gut says No

Does it give Reform a chance to win seats? Also No

I do agree with him that they just need 5-6 points more to start winning a handful of seats.

Like what the Hell is this?
It's just so stupid. I cannot wrap my head around such an absurd statement from trump. How could those Fox interviewers hold their composure after hearing such obvious lies?

It is literally impossible to know one way or another. JFK was in good health the morning of November 22nd, 1963. Not so much by the end of the day.

Assassination was not the gist of my post. I’m talking about Father Time doing work

Right, but there's a ton of unpredictability about life. People can live longer than expected despite seemingly being in poor health, healthy people sometimes die suddenly in defiance of expectations. It's a crapshoot and it's a waste of energy to try and speculate otherwise.

Both of them have long-lived parents. Biden's father lived until he was 87 and his mother 93. Trump's father lived until 93 and his mother 88. Genetics are both working in their favor.  It's easier for someone with bad habits and good genes to live till 90 than someone with good habits and bad genes. Trump is definitely coasting off his genes. Fred Trump was very active into old age.

Trump's father had Alzheimer's so that isn't a good sign for him. I don't know if Biden's parents did.

I have no doubt that the tape exists. I also have no doubt that it wouldn't change a thing.

Maybe, just maybe it might reduce support among African Americans particularly the younger ones, among who Trump gained at least a couple percentage points compared to prior Republican candidates.

I don't see why it would.

I don’t see why it wouldn’t.

Really? I don't see how anyone willing to consider voting for Trump at this point would be offended by bad words.

All the Bernie primary supporters who voted for Trump in the general in 2016 weren't true progressives. They were dumb kids.

Sorry bro but the Venn diagram there is a circle.

Mexican; Woman; Jewish; Pro-Palestine; Socialist and Socially Progressive.

This is the worst nightmare of US Right-Wingers of all branches. Fun dynamics for the next 4 years if Trump wins.

Every US president has been a Christian and a Man, so congrats to Mexico for being the North-American country that broke the trend earlier. Canada already had a female leader (never a non-christian though), so both are ahead of US in terms of political diversity.

I wasn´t sure if she was pro Palestine, but then I saw her with a keffiyeh. Well, it was a little thing, let's see what happens.
I think she has been occulting her jewish origin (to not alineate her WC catholic base, I suppose).
is she actually Jews or one of thoughs “Jewish atheists”

….

the closest thing to an ff the libertarian party has ever nominated, which is why i dislike him

The reason the left hates libertarians so much is that they actually make good arguments that you can't handwave away (unlike most conservatives) so they're enraged they have to do actual thinking for once.

I will most certainly hand wave away arguments that the minimum wage should be $0 and that property is more important than human life, definitely, for sure. That's not even getting into the low-hanging fruit like the age of consent sh*t, not having drivers' licenses, or defunding the Department of Education for Christ's sake.

He's a smart guy with a Master's Degree, but on the subject of politics I believe he is woefully uninformed.

However, that doesn't quite explain it. Why is he -- as a self-avowed progressive -- looking at Trump as a potential good faith partner on anything??

Because they care more about torching the current political system than enacting progressive policies.
Trump is always raging against the establishment, the elites, etc, and that's good enough for them.
