Should we endorse candidates for the Senate elections this month?  Every time a party vote is held for something, turnout is rather pessimistic, so I'm a bit reluctant to do so.

We also (supposedly) have two people pursuing Senate candidacies: Bacon King and NVTownsend.  However, neither has made a formal campaign announcement, yet.

I'm thinking about changing my votes since the Liberal Party, at this rate, seems to be the only one on pace to endorse non-party candidates.

Also, I would like to remind everyone that abstention votes will not be counted.  If you don't want someone to get an endorsement, vote nay on them.  Just thought I should mention that.

I never had the desire to appear divisive or bring about divisiveness, to be completely honest.  When Snowstalker and Seatown decide to cooperate and ZuWo decides to mind his own business, I may reconsider my vote, as well.  I think it's shameful that two great parties are unable to work together out of spite for minor differences on the issues, but I find it wrong for us to endorse candidates from other parties and get nothing in return.  And quite frankly, if we have Senate candidates running that demonstrate no desire to work with people they don't agree with all the time, then I don't believe they're qualified to hold public office.  Debate gets heated enough in the Senate between the left and the right at times, and I fear that endorsing people who wish to break the bond between the leftist parties will only lead to further polarization.

First, I would like to congratulate the winners of this month's At-Large Senate election.  I look forward to working with both those who retained their seats and those who will be joining the Senate for the first time.

A big thank you to those who sent PMs out this weekend.  The Liberals did very well this weekend, being the only party to gain seats (two of them), and it will be a pleasure having Senators-elect Bacon King and NVTownsend fight for us in the Senate.

Now, onto convention matters.  The details of our next convention are as follows:

Just as last time, the first day will be the time for sign-ins and proposals to our platform/bylaws, the second day is when the floor will be open to speeches, and the third day is when we vote on the proposed changes to the platform/bylaws and elect party leadership.  This will also be the first convention in which we have a February straw poll.

Vice President Napoleon has informed me that he will not be seeking another term, so we need someone to fill his spot.  If you would like to run for a leadership position, between now and the convention is the time to announce your intention to.

To start, I will be running for another term as Chair.
