I would like to begin by noting that as a presidential candidate, I have announced my intention to campaign for the nomination of every party that would have me, and thus would like the Labor Party Standing Committee to consider me for their nomination.
um Marduke would get the nomination.

Has the Committee formally voted on such an issue as of late? If so, I would gladly withdraw my nomination. However, until I am informed of such a happening, or am told that a rule would prevent me otherwise, I am pressing on.

Cathcon would have to have Labor member on his ticket in order to receive the endorsement of our party because there is already is a declared Laborite in the Presidential race.

For the sale of exactness, let's all look at the By-Laws. Smiley

APPROVED BY-LAWS:

Endorsement and Primary Procedure

1. All Labor party members are automatically endorsed by the party, except for the following situations
in which there will be a Labor Party Primary:
   a. If there are more Labor party members running than open spots in a given election, then we have a
        primary.
   b. A Labor party member is a party of a cross party ticket for President or Governor, then we will
        also have a primary.
   c. A Labor party member lost a primary and proceeded to run as a independent.

2. In the event there are multiple Labor party members vying for the same seat, a primary will be held
to determine who receives endorsement.
   a. Primaries will take place 3 weeks before the respective election.
   b. Voting will last for 72 hours.
   c. The loser is strongly encouraged not to run as an independent, as doing so will result in losing
a position in the Politburo, not being allowed to run in primaries or receive the party’s
endorsement in the subsequent 3 Federal elections.

3. Non Endorsements
   a. If there are not enough Labor Party members running for a given election, we will then endorse
candidates from other parties, in order for our party to have endorsed the same number of candidates
        as openings.
   b. Endorsement elections will take place 3 weeks before the respective election.
   c. In order to receive the endorsement of the Labor Party, the candidate from the other party has to
declare that he or she wishes to receive or party’s endorsement at least 24 hours before the
        endorsement election takes place.
   d. Voting will last for 72 hours.

4. Convention Endorsements
   a. Convention endorsements will follow the same procedures as regular endorsements, except it takes
        place during the convention.
   b. The only endorsements decided upon during a convention will be the upcoming Federal Elections for
        President and Senate.

I should apologize for not elaborating in my previous post. I realized after the fact that this has caused some confusion. This is the interpretation of the by-laws that I see being our procedure for the upcoming nomination:

Section 1b of the Endorsement and Primary Procedure:

Quote
You must be logged in to read this quote.

First, I would say that it is obvious that a Labor party member cannot be a 'party' in the described entity while simultaneously being a member of the Labor Party.

Secondly, this section of the by-laws can be interpreted to refer to endorsing the Presidential candidate as said individual is the actual individual being elected; since we do not independently elect Vice-Presidents, this position can be viewed as an attaché.

I would also point out that the procedure for how primaries work contradict the Presidnential convention process.

Section 2a of the Endorsement and Primary Procedure says:

Quote
You must be logged in to read this quote.

Whereas Section 1 of the Establishment/Management of Conventions says:

Quote
You must be logged in to read this quote.

Using only simple chronology, the convention endorsement will have already occurred by the time any such primary would be scheduled.

Without another Laborite running for President - whether that be as a Labor/Labor ticket or a Labor/Other ticket - there will be an up or down vote on Marokai/Duke at our convention in Oakland. In the event Marokai received more 'down' votes than 'up votes', it would be at my discretion as Chair to figure out any necessary procedures since they are not covered in our by-laws.

Our by-laws obviously need a second revision. Thankfully, Section 1 of the Creation and Amending of Party By-laws specifies that we amend our by-laws at the upcoming convention:

Quote
You must be logged in to read this quote.

I'm happy to announce that I am appointing Gass3268 and Seatown to the By-laws committee for revision of our by-laws at the Oakland convention.

Hey all, I'm just reporting in after a loooong winter break when epic things happened and what not and that kept me away from Atlasia longer than I thought it would. I haven't forgot that I am a part of the platform committee, and I will work on that this following weekend.

When is our convention starting ?

Members of the CMPA are free to join bourgeois parties in order to bring about Revolution. Of course Solopop is not yet a member; his revolutionary credentials are uncertain and are under review.

Ah, Fellow Travellers. Excellent. Of course you may also select the alternative title 'Useful Idiot', but that's always been less popular for some reason.

I would like to request an endorsement from the Labor Party in the Mideast Assembly Election next week. I'm proud to have worked with two Labor Assemblymen, Gass3268 and Drj101, during my time in the Assembly, and while we may disagree on some issues, I share some fundamental beliefs which fit very well into Labor ideology- a strong emphasis on the Worker, support for cap-and-trade legislation (I hope we can get it passed next session if I am elected!), and a focus on rebuilding our regional infrastructure.

Thanks, TXDem. Smiley

Any non-Labor candidate wishing to receive the endorsement of the Labor Party for Mideast Assembly or IDS Legislature should request to do within the next 24 hours.

I request the endorsement of the Labour Party. As a member of the Liberals, we share close ideological ties, and would work well together in the Assembly.
