I don't get the insistence that a wedding must be an orgy of conspicuous consumption. I doubt very much these people have any money. Nothing wrong with living within your means. They got a friend to officiate at their little church and theu'll spend the evening downtown.  Sounds simple but nice. I wish them well.

It's fine, but don't fault us for enjoying weddings the way we like to enjoy them. I, for one, have never been to a wedding where it was not a wild orgy. But I'm a Greek and I realize my lifestyle is far different than a lot of people here.

Italian weddings tend to be the same way. And why not? I've been to some relatively inexpensive - but very wild - weddings, and each of them was a great time. Occasions such as these ought to be enjoyed.

Yeah, definitely. It's a celebration of two lives becoming one. Why not enjoy yourselves? And allow your guests who you invited to share that moment enjoy themselves too? Of course, even Greek funerals are celebrations, so again, others may not understand my culture.... Tongue

He probably is eating less than normal if he's telling us the truth - but last time he "lost weight" he came out and admitted he was just making it up. He definitely isn't eating any healthier though.

I am telling the truth.  Yes, I am eating right at 1500 kcal a day.  I'm not eating healthier, just eating less.

That's smart, Bushie.  Most of what these know-it-alls think they know about what is 'healthy' is perfect nonsense or just fads they see on the media.

Eggs, red meat, fatty fish and green leafy vegetables are the way to go - its obvious to any thinking man.  Maybe cashews and pistachios for snacks.

opebo is partially right on this.  im amazed at how many people on here pretend to be dieticians.

that being said, you dont have to be an expert to realize that bushie is killing himself with very large quantities of unhealthy foods.

Weddings don't have to be a drunkfest, but traditionally it is in good taste to at least share wine.  It is part of being festive.

I made some questionable decisions concerning the bride's sister last night at that wedding. Good thing it's over now.

That's my good Greek boy.

Jesus turned water into wine at a wedding.  Why do your no alcohol friends hate Jesus?

I must agree. (Although red meat shouldn't require a bun, fried potatoes, or HFCS to enjoy)

No one is arguing against that kind of eating. He just never eats leafy vegetables. All of his red meat is accompanied with a bun, fries, cheese, or something else. And he doesn't eat fish unless it's fish sticks, which are fried and frozen.

But he is losing weight, he's just no healthier.

Good evening, folks!  I am home from a good dinner with my Kenya team.  I didn't eat particularly healthy, so I will likely gain just a bit in the morning.  Oh well, gotta shake it off and get back to it tomorrow.  I had a cheeseburger with a few fries, Diet Dr Pepper, and a big scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream for dessert.  That's probably 1500-1800 calories.  Oh well.  I did pretty good the few days before that, and I'll get back to the diet tomorrow.  It's just a one day fluke.  No sweat.

I am getting excited to go to Kenya.  I leave in 10 days and 13 hours.  The morning of June 20, the flight leaves at 10:40, so we are all meeting at the Airport by 7:40, however, since Dad has to be at work by 6:45, I will be at the Airport by 6:15-6:30.

Go out for a 'mightnight run' in the moonlight, Bushie, and you'll work a lot of that off.  Oklahoma will look a lot better in the luminescence.

Good Monday Morning!  With the bad diet day I had yesterday, I did gain 2 pounds back, but that's okay, nothing I can do about it now.  I'm getting back on the diet today and will have those two pounds gone in no time plus some.

Weight doesn't come and go that sporadically. You've lost some weight, but a lot of it is water retention and loss. You don't just gain and lose multiple pounds per day. Tongue

When he took his last Kenya-Update break, I suggested that we all just imagine what he must be doing each day in Kenya, and post it here, but I don't think anyone took me up on it.  Sad

prediction:  this whole cad thing gets thrown out the window when bushie returns from kenya.  he will hatch some new scheme to return to 'his country' to be with 'his babies.'

might be best.  i dont think his heart is in this cad endeavor.

I'm thinking the same thing. We know how he said he was an African and had children to care for "back home" when he came home the first time. He's sort of tapered that insane rhetoric, but I imagine it will come back in full force in a few weeks.
