I just noticed that, in his all four presidential campaigns, FDR never carried his home Dutchess County, NY

1932:

Hoover: 54.95%
FDR: 43.47%

1936:

Landon: 53.12%
FDR: 45.02%

1940:

Willkie: 55.69%
FDR: 44.1%

1944:

Dewey: 58.92%
FDR: 40.8%

Well, of course Roosevelt was universally hated by members of his sociological class. Rightfully so, if I must say. Tongue

FDR was really annoyed by their stance. "I saved their sorry asses", he said, rightfully as well.

There's a book about him titled Traitor to His Class for a reason.

And FDR did not consider himself a traitor to his class. He considered himself their savior (by saving and reforming American capitalism). That was one of things that really pissed him off.
