TN is #4 in the country for States who relay on Trade... and hurt by Trade Wars.  Bredesen needs to be hammering this in his ads- the importance of a Senator who will work to limit these Trade wars.  The business community will vote for Bredesen if they think he is best for the TN economy.  This is his strength to begin with. He needs to hammer it home in ads.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/22/us/politics/house-senate-midterms.html

From a write up on the state of the midterms:

There is one state on which both sides agree: Tennessee, despite some polls that showed Republicans enjoying a post-Kavanaugh bounce, remains a real race for the open Senate seat.

That article seems to indicate that neither party really has a good idea what's going on in the Senate. I have to wonder in what universe Nevada and Arizona are "tilted toward the Republicans", Florida is leaning toward the Republicans, Missouri is locked up for the Republicans, but Tennessee is "still a real race." That sounds like a red wave taking place everywhere except Tennessee, which experiences a blue tsunami. Forgive me if that seems a bit implausible.

Alternatively, we can ignore articles that are plainly just DSCC/NRSC spin plsnted for NYT to run

Yeah I would agree that most of the article should be ignored, but I thought the agreement on a competitive race in Tennessee seemed to disagree with the common wisdom here, so I thought it worth sharing. Apparently the empty quoters of the forum think all the content they share is better.

Perhaps reports of Bredesen's demise were premature.

Yeah, it clearly means that he's ahead by about 2-3% again ...

There is a NYT article today that the White House is worried an they think this has slipped back to competitive in the past few days.

Yet people in this thread essentially called me a moron for sharing these rumors a few days ago.

It really doesn’t. It tells you that it’s most likely a close/-ish race that’s far from over, but I thought that was rather obvious. Apparently not.

One difference could be that many of the Moderate Republicans have actually voted for Bredesen in the past.. and gave him high job approval numbers.

Not that it really matters, but Taylor Swift posted this on Instagram. Taylor > Kanye confirmed at the very least.

Nice.

Btw: Where does a Taylor Swift vote ? Did she vote early at some rural precinct or something ? Or by mail ?
