On a less optimistic note, from the same article:

Numbers (COH - Debts)

Obama

Obama for America- $95.2 mil
Obama Victory 2012 (Joint Fundraising acct) - $8.8 mil
Swing State (Joint Fundraising acct)- $3.0
DNC- $32.1 mill
Priorities Action USA (Super Pac)- $2.7 mill

Total $141.8 Mil

Romney

Romney For President- $22.5 mil
Romney Victory (Joint Fundraising acct)- $57.7 mil
RNC- $79.5
Restore Our Future (Super Pac)- $21.6 mil

Total 181.3 Mill

Team Romney is ahead in the money race but Obama has more control over how the money supporting him will be spent. There are also other Pacs, State Parties (a large chunk of Romney's joint fundraising acct is destined to State Parties) , and other groups out there. Bottom line both sides will have more than enough money to run the campaigns they want to run.

Don't worry, I'm sure all that money will be completely wasted by Romney and co, if this campaign so far is any indication of their competence.

I bet by October that Romney's campaign will be mostly reliant on SuperPacs for advertising expenditure, just like with the primaries
