Yeah, I think people are waiting for Clinton to speak.  Unfortunately, this speech is like a preview before a big movie.

I would have considered this a decent speech... if it wasn't the keynote.

I'm afraid this guy is far too heavy on the details for a convention crowd...

Too bad, I like him quite a bit for a Democrat.

Warner doesn't seem to be nearly as much as he has been cracked up to be.... I agree that his speech had potential, but he is not nearly as inspiring as some have presented him to be.

I'm glad he didn't volunteer, nor was asked to be VP.

He's picking up a little bit now that he's talking about small town America.

Dennis Kucinich should have given the Keynote Speech. Tongue

I don't think it's a bad speech; the crowd just isn't into it.
Exactly, it isn't exactly what excites the Democratic base, talking about business, competition and national security from a pragmatic centrist viewpoint.

Pretty sad that a substance-less speech about "hope and change" is more up the Democratic delegates' alley than a substance-filled speech like this.

It's not like most of the keynotes before Obama's were that special.

Why doesn't the crowd have "Warner for Senate" signs?

Nobody wants substance.  If you don't fill your speech with a ton of platitudes... everybody falls asleep.

It is, this man should be the nominee right now if it was up to me(or Schweitzer).

First impressions:
Warner comes off as extremely intense, but likable.

Warner's speech was better than Casey's speech by far. There were more facts and substantive points. We need more stories like the Lebanon story.

With the one exception that Warner didn't go after McCain much either. He praised bipartisanship... hasn't McCain worked bipartisan? This was never even addressed. They are leaving all the heavy lifting to Hillary. If Hillary doesn't go after McCain, it's another wasted night.

I thought Warner hit a pretty solid base hit, maybe a double.  I loved the bit about getting broadband to rural Virginia.  "If you can send a job to Bangalore, India you sure as heck can send a job to Danville, VA!"  That line put his speech in the positive column for me.

Strickland was pretty good, I like him.

No real opinion on Patrick.

At least he is on primetime.
