What if the Puritans didn't make it to Plymouth? What if their boat was destroyed at sea, killing them all, they all starved to death, etc.?

A more probable alternate history would be that they make it to where they had planned to go, the mouth of the Hudson, probably settling either Manhattan or Brooklyn.
