I have not been here long enough to answer the first question, but I do not really see anything wrong with strong parties. As long as we don't become as partisan as they are in the real Congress, I don't see a problem.

Three major parties, mind you. The DA holds 4 senate seats, a governorship and a bunch of minor offices such as Assemblyman and Lt Governor.
