Do the Paul people actually believe Ron Paul will be the GOP nominee? I see the stuff on Facebook all the time, but then again, so did the Santorum people. But that was at a point where Santorum had a shot. So, is this just candidate hackery or do they actually believe he'll pull it off?
Yeah, that's what I wanted to know as well. On the Politico boards, I pointed out that Paul himself has all but said that he doesn't actually plan on winning, just getting enough delegates and airtime to legitimize his libertarian views. I also pointed out that he had no chance of winning. The Paulites shouted me off, and rambled on about "secret Paul delegates" that would make Paul the nominee and thus somehow an easy shoe-in for the presidency. Paulites are like a cult sometimes, seriously. They won't even accept any successor to Ron's libertarian legacy (since this is his last try), not Gary Johnson, not one of the old Libertarian Party contenders, not even Rand Paul. They only see "Dr. Paul" as their leader, and no one else. I hate to imagine what it's going to like when they realize that Ron isn't going to run anymore.
