the closest thing to an ff the libertarian party has ever nominated, which is why i dislike him

The reason the left hates libertarians so much is that they actually make good arguments that you can't handwave away (unlike most conservatives) so they're enraged they have to do actual thinking for once.

I will most certainly hand wave away arguments that the minimum wage should be $0 and that property is more important than human life, definitely, for sure. That's not even getting into the low-hanging fruit like the age of consent sh*t, not having drivers' licenses, or defunding the Department of Education for Christ's sake.

He's a smart guy with a Master's Degree, but on the subject of politics I believe he is woefully uninformed.

However, that doesn't quite explain it. Why is he -- as a self-avowed progressive -- looking at Trump as a potential good faith partner on anything??

Because they care more about torching the current political system than enacting progressive policies.
Trump is always raging against the establishment, the elites, etc, and that's good enough for them.

South Surrey MLA Elenore Sturko defected to the Conservatives today. They are now up to 4 seats.

Interesting in view of all the hateful homophobic things the BC Conservatives were saying about her just weeks ago

If this really does prove to be a "nothing burger", that is a very damning indictment of this country and its people. There should be some things that represent a bridge too far, and I'd say literally being a criminal should be disqualifying. If Biden were literally convicted, I would not vote for him, and I would certainly lose respect for anyone who would continue to support him afterward because "other side bad" or who warped their worldview to think anything even suggesting that their preferred candidate isn't a good person must be "biased", "rigged", etc. People who still support Trump have no excuse. They don't have to vote for Biden. They don't even have to stop calling themselves Republicans. But if they knowing support a criminal despite all the "law and order" BS and clutching their pearls about "illegal" immigrants (and believing they deserve very harsh treatment), then they are despicable people with no values, no ifs ands or buts. My standards for this country are already very low, but I will see this country in an unequivocally negative light if it literally and knowingly elects a criminal president.

The country is SICK of being “indicted” by moralizing, ruling class elites.

One of the longest running gags of this forum is users “indicting” the general public for not voting the way they want them to. It’s a democracy bob.

Yeah, the people who chanted "stop the count" and did J6 are just mad because they love democracy so much

So now January 6th people are representative of 74 million voters? Now let’s start going into the 81 million Biden votes then… some I assume, were good people.

Even you know that’s a garbage characterization.

If you're still going to vote for the guy after he instigated the whole thing by refusing to concede and promoting his bogus election conspiracy theories, then yes.

Biden hasn't done anything remotely that bad not to mention the 300% increase in civilian casualties  from drone strikes while Trump was president, obstructing justice every time he gets investigated, and selling out the Kurds. I'd rather be "responsible" for Biden raising taxes or something than any of that.

AB and SK would be safe Conservative, Quebec would be safe for the anti-Conservative party (providing it was sufficiently pro-Quebec enough). All the other provinces would be swing provinces. Even the territories (maybe not NWT).

This kind of crap reminds me of Hillary hanging out with Lena Dunham back in 2016. If the GOP wants to become the D-list celebrity party then go for it. It can only hurt them.
Dude, the UFC is so f**king popular with men, particularly young males all around the world (Third & First World alike) and in America. This year it surpassed the NHL as one of the top 4 major sports.

And you thing the appropriate comparison is Lena Dunham?

Yes, I do think it's a good comparison. No one gives a sh-t about some foreign meathead with brain damage who punches other people with brain damage for a living. I'm not surprised it surpassed the NHL, because no one cares about that crap either.

Didn't want to start an own thread, but what are your early guesses for Trump's sentence? Do you believe Merchan will just fine Trump X million dollars, will he get parole or even some jail time?

As of today, I don't believe there's going to be a full prison sentence. I expect Trump to be on parole at the time he's accepts the GOP nomination. Which is absolutely insane to imagine. The so-called party of law & order will nominate a convicted felon for prez.

I would also bet on parole, though if Trump continues with his unhinged behavior of the last few months, it's possible he might indeed face some form of prison or house arrest. He already has violated his gag order more than once. And it's still in effect until sentence is announced. Objectively his behavior and lack of remorse should factor into decision making by the presiding judge.
