Oh no, guys, read a bit about him...
And, well, if you want some social-democrat, pick Palme as he wasn't so important historically for his country (the system, the "model", would have lived without him), contrary to Mendès, who was one of the only ethic figures in French politics, who was a very rare coherent figure in the French left and who gave independence to Morocco, Tunisia, Indochina.
