Duel - Spielberg

Not bad, seems to be the one that inspired a lot of copycats, not especially for the scenario, rather for the way of shooting. Maintained the pace all long the movie, just a very few parts were too long I found, he succeeded to create the ambiance of a duel of classical westerns and to make it last during all the movie. I didn't get bored but I really wanted it to end as quickly as possible, he succeeded to make me watch all long.

Push.

They were some ridiculous plotholes even accepting the sci-fi premise, plus the fact that the various psychic powers were more like different classes in an MMORPG than anything plausible even accepting the possibility, but it wasn't a bad movie, and it had some pretty unique action sequences. Ending was lame though, it was like they were trying to set up a sequel yet leave it closed at the same time.

Gran Torino, 2008 film with Clint Eastwood. Excellent.

Knowing, 2009 film with Nicolas Cage. Very cool and excellent special effects.

Thirteen Days, 2000 film with Kevin Costner taking us through the thirteen days in October 1962 when America and the Soviet Union came to the brink of nuclear war.

My Fellow Americans, 1996 film involving two ex-Presidents, Republican Russell Kramer (Jack Lemmon) and Democrat Matt Douglas (James Gardner) running for their lives from a scandal put forth by the current Republican President Bill Haney (Dan Aykroyd). A decent, funny flick.

Zulu, made in 1964, with Michael Caine.

Such a great film. The pace is kept up from beginning to end and you really get a sense of what it must have felt like to be there.

Cop, 1988 suspense film with James Woods as an L.A.P.D. detective investigating a series of gruesome murders. Excellent thriller. James Woods is one of my favorites.

Agreed.  With Stanley Baker, too, right?

This is ironic.  I just watched Zulu Dawn from Netflix.  That's the one with Burt Lancaster and Peter O'Toole.  I expected it to be at least as good as Zulu, if not better.  While I appreciated that they made a big deal of the tactical errors and arrogance of the British commanders, it did little justice to the ferocity and skill of the Zulu warrior.  And some of the acting performances, Lancaster in particular, seemed to be a bit "phoned in".

Terminator Salvation

a lot of cool perks for fans of the series, but meh, kinda pointless. It was only vaguely interesting throughout.

I was high and had consumed ~ 2/3rds of a Forty, so, coupled with the $3 price tag at the discount theater, it seemed like a pretty good idea at the time.

Gigantic.

Don't listen to the critics. This movie is a rather funny and true mumblecoreish look at life. Honestly Zooey's character seemed like a female version of myself, especially at the end. My only complaint is the Zach Galifianakis character, he was completely unnecessary and added nothing to the plot.

Donnie Brasco, 1997 film with Al Pacino and Johnny Depp based on the true story of FBI Agent Joe Pistone who infiltrated the mob in the late 1970s. Great.

Bulletproof, 1996 comedy/action film with Damon Wayans and Adam Sandler. Funny and action packed.

The Last Boy Scout, 1991 action/comedy with Bruce Willis and Damon Wayans. Saw it a few times before, including just a few months ago...but a very good movie.

Hard Time, 1998 film with Burt Reynolds as a Miami cop. Decent for a made for TV movie.

Lucky Number Slevin, 2006 film with Josh Hartnett, Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman. It was alright, but the ending made it better than anticipated.

Wristcutters: A Love Story.

Some points for originality, but it honestly just wasn't that good of a money.

That's why I heard. Mid-way it brings in Leslie Mann's character and then expects you to forget about everything previous and care only about Adam Sandler's interaction with her, despite the fact that you can't care about this new plotline as it hasn't even existed up until now.

Sex, Lies, and Videotape. I thought it was very good. Probably Soderbergh's best film.

Which version did you watch, the theatrical release or directors cut?  I personally prefer the theatrical.
