I just did up the names quickly, so there are some issues, obviously. My knowledge of Toronto geography isn't as good as say, Ottawa's.

I don't understand all these naming complaints. All the ridings that have been mentioned just use the names of some landmarks, municipalities, or counties that are in the riding. People will figure it out. I don't see the point of trying to decide what's "the successor" riding to what in an area like York Region where all boundaries are shifting due to fast population growth.

A bill was passed on Friday changing a bunch of the new riding names. Generally they seem to emphasize completeness at the cost of making things an ugly mouthful, but a few are just kind of weird and random.

Actually, the opposite happened. They're going with the historic riding name of North Island-Powell River. I suppose this is better. Having "Comox" in the name seems redundant.
