In this year, with the type of campaign Baker ran, only Capuano would clearly have beaten Baker.

Frankly, out of those who ran Coakley was in fact the best bet against Baker. Perhaps she would have even won if she didn't campaign so "safely."

An excitement wasn't what doomed Coakley. Boston turned out. Baker's constant campaigning in urban areas just reduced the margins just enough.
