Only extremists on both sides would answer either yes or no to every single form of privatization that there is.

Very true!  Though as a generalization I would say that privatization has been excessive in most countries - as in there are many cases where the privatization has been detrimental to the commoners.  On the other hand, privatization's main purpose is to create an opportunity to hugely enrich the wealth and politically well connected, so from the perspective of this class privatization is an unmitigated good.
