People have complained that they don't understand my political orientation, and, yeah, it's bizarre, especially in France where a regionalist/federalist likes me practically dislikes all parties imaginable.
OK, serious-actual voter who cares version with some hindsight:
1965: Pierre Marcilhacy/Charles de Gaulle 1969: Michel Rocard/Alain Poher 1974: Jacques Chaban-Delmas/Valéry Giscard d'Estaing 1981: Michel Crépeau/Valéry Giscard d'Estaing 1988: Raymond Barre/François Mitterrand 1995: Édouard Balladur/Jacques Chirac 2002: Alain Madelin or Jean Saint-Josse/Jacques Chirac 2007: Frédéric Nihous/Nicolas Sarkozy 2012 (scenario): Hervé Morin/Dominique Strauss-Kahn
alternatively, if I was less politically inclined and more tolerant of not voting; I would have abstained from voting in the runoffs in 1981, 1988, 1995, 2002 and likely 2007. Actually, in 1988, I might have shot a bullet through my head given the choices. If I was my current self who has a penchant for political humour, than Georges Marchais in 1981 would be an obvious choice.
Legislative depends on lots of stuff, like constituency and candidates and all that. It depends a lot on where I vote in France, do I vote in Rennes, Redon or Saint-Malo, for example? I mean, my father associates with Rennes, I associate with Saint-Malo (because I vacationed there) but when I go to France I stay in Redon's constituency (and, say, my Air France address is there).
1945: Radical 1946-J: RGR 1946-N: RGR 1951: RGR 1956: Radical-UDSR 1958: Radical 1962: Radical 1967: PSU 1968: PSU 1973: MR 1978: UDF 1981: MRG 1986: MRG 1988: PS 1993: Greens 1997: Regionalist 2002: Regionalist 2007: Regionalist
In the Euros, I would have voted Green in 1989, Max Simeoni's list in 1994, Green in 1999, abstained in 2004 and Parti breton or EE in 2009.
In the regionals, I'd have voted regionalist throughout (PS in the 2004 and 2010 runoffs).
