Regardless who wins the primary, Whitmer and Sayed should be our ticket in one arrangement or the other.

This primary is shaping up to be like most Democratic primaries:

Establishment candidate who wins in the end: Gretchen Whitmer
Crazy left-winger that the Bernie wing lines up behind: Abdul El Sayed
Black candidate for identity politics: Bill Cobbs
Random dude who just shows up and gets .2% of the vote: Shri Thanedar

Whitmer will win the general by 4 or 5 points by virtue of the national climate. I knew the day after the 2014 election where Snyder went from a 59% landslide to a 50.5% squeaker that we’d elect a Democratic Governor in 2018 no matter who the president was.

Sayed is actually the furthest thing from crazy. Very left-wing, yes, but he's hardly a Justice Democrat. His profile and credentials are actually very impressive, and he's super-intelligent.
