How atheistic is this person? If purely, hardcore atheistic, then no.  Belief in divine order makes people fearless enough to deal with the challenges of the Presidency.

Thomas Jefferson is a good example of an "atheist" that I could vote for.

I didn't say I'd vote for any religious person.

What reason does an atheist have to be fearless?

Of course I would.  I would prefer either of these to the alternative, particularly the atheist.

Here in Thailand they have a very big 'ladyboy' phenomenon - a surprisingly large percentage of the male population are transvestite and/or transexual.  Some friends and I once remarked that the mark of a truly tolerant and reasonable nation would be a Ladyboy President!

If the Dems don't dump your kind, they better get ready to lose in a landslide.

How often do you bathe in sewage? I would assume not very often. You ever stop and think that maybe there are some things in life that are supposed to be repulsive?

Your version of tolerance is an exclusionary, elitist club for freaks.

As someone who enjoys close races, I just want to warn the liberals. You run on this, and you lose in a DC-is-solid-Republican landslide.

Nobody is fearless.  Fearlessness is a trait that will not evolve.  Religious people are scared of god-remember?

What I mean is that Washington and Lincoln were emboldened by faith and were able to get inspiration in the tough times for their faith throughout the American Revolution and Civil War.

How is electing an atheist the same thing as "turning away from God?"

The country begins with the colonies, unless you consider the country to be the Union, but that's not what he means.

It's part of history. How important it is isn't of any significance to me, but I'm just defending his post.

I didn't see the context in which you were arguing. I just responded to that one statement of yours.
